Ecaflip

Ecaflip is a god of the World of Twelve, as well as the name given to his followers. He and his disciples serve White Magic and he was among the ten gods who discovered the World of Ten.

His name backwards spells "Pilface," an alteration of "pile ou face," meaning "heads or tails" in French.

Divine attributes and symbols: Playing Cards; Six-Sided Dice.

Only confirmed gamblers can appear to the god Ecaflip. They are the only ones who will find mercy in the eyes of the god and who can receive his favours. As for the others, some clever kitties will be shown what their future holds, but you can bet that the god Ecaflip, always a bit mischievous, will send anyone he doesn't like to the beyond... but give them a chance to escape...

Commandments[]

Ecaflip's disciples must adhere to the following commandments:

Thou shalt not make any decision without first having played heads or tails.

Thou shalt always land on thy feet.

Thou shalt bet on anything and everything.

Thou shalt not pussyfoot around.

Thou shalt always keep an ace up thy sleeve.

Thou shalt not leave claw marks on the maps.

Thou shalt grin like a cheshire cat when someone tells thee a good joke.

Thou shalt impress thine enemies by going for broke.

Thou shalt train every day to keep thy hand in.

Thou shalt take a bite out of all nine of thy lives.

If thou dost not follow these commandments, thou shalt be forced to take a cold bath as a sign of penitence.

What's the life of a disciple of Ecaflip like? It's a life of getting into sticky situations, landing a windfall and then swiftly losing just as much if not more... If you're in a tavern and you hear somebody betting kamas, you can be sure there's an Ecaflip around, he'll either be betting or looking carefully at the scene, rolling a coin between his fingers... A happy Ecaflip gambles all the time, for everything and for nothing - but be careful, he takes gambling very seriously. He can even risk his life on a throw of the dice. Do you know anyone that crazy? Pretty sure I don't.
The Ecaflip mind set is clear on one thing: there's no such thing as a coincidence. To the layman, they appear to leave things to good fortune or misfortune, but the Ecaflip disciple knows that when he decides to play, it's his destiny!
Ecaflips are great warriors skilled in both team fights and solo fights. It ought to be noted, though, that if an Ecaflip is going to fight with other adventurers, his teammates would do well to have a similar life philosophy... Although Ecaflip magic is renowned for its destructive powers, it is also governed by the laws of fate and can backfire on the allies that it's supposed to support, hence the misunderstandings and even the insults exchanged on battlefields. It's true that when an Ecaflip prepares to cast "All or Nothing", it can be quite harrowing for both enemies and allies!
