Ankama Canada is a studio that opened in Montreal on August 1, 2013. The idea came from two Ankama employees who decided to move to the province of Quebec and was approved as a way to reach into the Canadian market and increase international awareness.[1]

Planning to recruit a dozen people from the local video game industry, the studio will work in cooperation with the Roubaix-based teams on a new video game called Abraca. Unrelated to the existing worlds of Dofus and Wakfu, Abraca will be a "platform and multiplayer combat game part of a transmedia project" where the player "is encouraged to explore the game in the form of dungeons and emblematic places in the world of fairy tales: Imagi."[2]
